Fairness for EveryoneKOFI ANNAN, Secretary-General of the United Nations, has described Human Rights as "What each of us has the right to expect from our fellow human beings, the people we share the world with."

The need to define what each member of our Human family deserves-to-receive and is expected-to-give has motivated many United Nations documents that have demanded international negotiation and consensus.

Those documents have set standards of fairness to inspire, guide, and bind us in accepting the responsibility of respecting each other's worth, dignity, and rights locally and globally - so that we might share the world peacefully.

The principles in those documents endure and their purposes become more and more meaningful as modern technology both connects and threatens our Human Family.

Comments from the Cast Members of "FAIRNESS for EVERYONE: the Universal Declaration of Human Rights"

"I have heard the term 'Human Rights' all my life, but I never knew what they were til I participated in this recording"

"Since we hear so much about negative violations of Human Rights in today's world, it was especially gratifying to be involved in a project about the positive assertion of Human rights."

"I feel honored to have participated in this project. I hope it will truly serve the noble purpose for which it was created. The tape could serve as a basis for students in schools to research, discuss, and even dramatize the topic of Human Rights . . . I truly think that the way to make the values stated in the UDHR come to full truth is by teaching the younger ones and making them part of the comprehension and understanding of what they really mean."

Endorsements from organizations:

"[Deputy Secretary General Annabelle] Wiener would like to thank you for your . . . informative tape on the Universal Declaration of Human Rights. The FEDERATION would also like to congratulate you . . . for producing such informative media materials. At many times, informing the public through the media is often more effective than informing them through publications. The WORLD FEDERATION of UNITED NATIONS ASSOCIATIONS would like to welcome [you] as an ally to the FEDERATION and its objectives. Working together [we] will be able to promote a greater understanding for the Universal Declaration of Human Rights and the Convention on the elimination of all forms of Discrimination Against Women."

"[It] is not enough to talk about peace; one must believe in it. And it is not enough to believe in it; one must work at it."
-Eleanor Roosevelt
